Build a career where your work actually protects people.
We're a 14-person, locally-owned Austin company that installs and services security systems across Central Texas. Every technician on our team is a full employee — never a subcontractor — with real benefits, real training, and real career growth.
A different kind of security company to work for.
Most security companies hire technicians as independent contractors and rotate them through jobs like a staffing agency. We don't. Here's what's different about working here.
Full W-2 Employment
Every technician is a full employee with medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) match. No 1099 contracts, no unpaid drive time, no tax headaches.
Predictable Schedule
Most installs run 8am–5pm, Monday through Friday. Weekend work is optional and paid at a premium. Nobody gets called in at 2am unless they've volunteered for on-call.
Real Training Budget
$4,000 per year per technician for certifications, manufacturer training, and continuing education. We pay for the training and you keep the credential.
Actual Career Paths
Half our senior team started as apprentices. We promote from within — every crew lead, department manager, and senior technician came up through our own ranks.
What comes with every full-time role.
No "unlimited PTO" gimmicks or vague wellness perks. Just real, tangible benefits that matter to people who do physical work for a living.
Five open roles. Apply in five minutes.

About the Role
We're looking for an experienced technician to lead residential and commercial camera installs across Greater Austin. You'll work independently on most jobs, with a company truck, fully-stocked tools, and a schedule that respects your time.
What You'll Do
- Install, configure, and test security camera systems on residential and small commercial properties
- Run cable through attics, walls, and soffits with clean, professional routing
- Configure NVRs, cloud storage, and mobile app access for customers
- Perform live walkthroughs with customers and train them on their systems
- Document every install with photos and detailed notes in our field app
- Mentor apprentice technicians and lead by example on quality and cleanliness
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of security camera or low-voltage installation experience
- Texas DPS Private Security license (we'll pay renewal)
- Valid Texas driver's license and clean driving record
- Comfort working in attics, on ladders, and in Texas heat
- Strong customer communication skills — you're the face of the company on installs
- Own set of hand tools (specialty tools provided)
About the Role
You'll lead our access control and intercom division — installing, configuring, and integrating keycard readers, video intercoms, and multi-tenant systems across apartment buildings, office campuses, and gated communities in Central Texas.
What You'll Do
- Install and configure electronic access control systems (Honeywell, Lenel, Brivo platforms)
- Run low-voltage wiring for card readers, strikes, mag locks, and door controllers
- Program multi-tenant intercom directory panels and resident apps
- Integrate access control with camera systems and fire alarm panels
- Troubleshoot complex system integrations independently
- Provide on-site training to property managers and facility staff
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of access control or commercial low-voltage experience
- Familiarity with at least one major access control platform (Honeywell, Lenel, Genetec, Brivo)
- Understanding of fire code requirements and NFPA 101 egress standards
- Texas DPS Private Security license (we'll pay renewal)
- Comfort working in commercial buildings with active occupants
About the Role
Our 12-month apprenticeship program takes people with no security industry experience and trains them into fully-licensed technicians. You'll be paid from day one, work alongside senior technicians, and complete manufacturer certifications at our expense.
Half our current senior team started as apprentices. This is a real career path, not a temp job.
What You'll Learn
- Low-voltage cabling techniques and code requirements
- Camera system installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Access control and intercom system fundamentals
- Network basics for IP-based security systems
- Customer communication and on-site professionalism
- Texas DPS licensing requirements (we cover the cost)
What We're Looking For
- No prior security experience required — we train from scratch
- Valid Texas driver's license and clean driving record
- Comfort working in attics, on ladders, and in Texas weather
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior technicians
- Basic hand tool familiarity (drills, screwdrivers, wire strippers)
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
About the Role
You'll be the voice of SecureVista Tech — answering our support line, responding to emails, and helping existing customers troubleshoot their systems. Most issues get resolved remotely, so you'll work closely with our field technicians to diagnose and fix problems.
What You'll Do
- Answer inbound support calls and emails from residential and commercial customers
- Troubleshoot common camera, NVR, and app issues over the phone or via remote access
- Schedule service visits and dispatch technicians when on-site work is needed
- Track all interactions in our CRM and document resolutions clearly
- Follow up with customers after service visits to confirm resolution
- Support the maintenance plan calendar and quarterly health checks
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of customer support or call center experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable learning technical systems (camera software, mobile apps, network basics)
- Patience and empathy with non-technical customers
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Bonus: prior experience in security, low-voltage, or tech support
About the Role
You'll manage commercial client relationships from first quote to first maintenance visit — coordinating multi-site rollouts, handling SLA negotiations, and making sure every commercial customer feels like our only customer.
What You'll Do
- Lead commercial site surveys alongside senior technicians
- Prepare written proposals, equipment lists, and pricing for commercial projects
- Coordinate scheduling for multi-site deployments with property managers and GCs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial accounts after install
- Track project milestones and communicate status proactively to clients
- Handle enterprise SLA negotiations and contract renewals
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of B2B account management or commercial sales experience
- Strong project coordination skills — comfortable managing multiple projects at once
- Familiarity with commercial real estate, property management, or construction
- Excellent written communication skills — you'll write most customer proposals
- Comfort with technical systems (you don't need to be an installer, but you need to understand the products)
- Valid Texas driver's license for site visits
No experience? We'll train you from scratch — and pay you while we do.
Our 12-month paid apprenticeship is the way half our current senior team got their start. You'll work alongside experienced technicians from day one, earn a real paycheck, and finish the program with a DPS license, manufacturer certifications, and a full-time technician role.
What our team says about working here.
Real quotes from current SecureVista employees. Names and roles are shared with permission.
I started as an apprentice four years ago with zero security experience. Today I lead installs on my own and I've got my DPS license and Axis certification — all paid for by SecureVista. I owe this company my career.
The biggest surprise for me was how much the company actually respects work-life balance. I have two kids and I'm home for dinner almost every night. That's not something you hear about in the trades.
Everyone here actually answers the phone. The owners know my name, my dog's name, and how my daughter's soccer team is doing. It's the kind of place you want to stay at for a long time.
Four steps from application to offer.
We respect your time — the whole process is usually wrapped up within two weeks, and you'll hear back from us at every stage.
Application Review
We read every application personally. If your background is a fit, we reach out to schedule a phone screen.
Phone Screen
A 20-minute call with the hiring manager to talk about your experience, what you're looking for, and answer your questions.
On-Site Interview
Meet the team, tour our shop, and for field roles, spend a half-day riding along with a technician on a real install.
Offer & Onboarding
We make a decision within 48 hours. Offers include full compensation details, benefits overview, and a start date.

For our Senior Technician and Access Control Specialist roles, yes — we look for 2–3+ years of relevant experience. For our Apprentice program, no experience is required at all. We train from scratch.
Support and account management roles need relevant experience (customer service, account management), but not security industry experience specifically. We'll teach you the products.
Only W-2. Every person who works for SecureVista Tech is a full employee with benefits, workers' compensation, and tax withholding handled properly. We've never used 1099 contractors for installation work.
This is a core value for us — we believe people doing skilled physical work deserve full employment protections.
For experienced technician roles, having an active Texas DPS Private Security license is strongly preferred — but if you have relevant experience and are willing to get licensed, we'll cover the cost and sponsor you through the process.
For apprentices, you don't need a license to start. We handle all licensing fees and exam costs during your training year.
Most days start at our West 45th Street shop between 7:30 and 8am, where you'll load your truck and get your assignment for the day. You'll typically do one to two installs or service calls per day, depending on scope.
You'll handle the full job — cable runs, mounting, configuration, customer walkthrough — and then return to the shop to restock and log your work. Most technicians are done by 5pm. Weekend work is optional.
For senior technician roles and specialized positions (access control specialists, experienced commercial installers), we offer relocation assistance for candidates currently living outside the Austin area. Assistance is typically a lump sum paid after successful onboarding.
For apprentices and support roles, we generally don't offer relocation — we hire locally for those positions.
Usually about two weeks from application to final decision, assuming we move forward at each step. Application review takes up to 5 business days, phone screen is scheduled within a week, on-site interview within a week after that, and final decisions are made within 48 hours of the on-site visit.
We don't ghost applicants. If we decide not to move forward, you'll hear from us either way.
Yes — but we recommend picking the one role that best matches your experience and applying for that specifically. If you're a fit for a different role, we'll mention it during the phone screen and can redirect your application internally.
Multiple applications for very different roles (e.g., technician and account manager) sometimes make it harder to assess where you'd actually fit best.
